  • Abstract: The paper presents an analysis of Russian and Serbian communicative equiv‑ alents of the Czech prosím. This form of the 1st person sg. present tense of prosit ‘to ask’ undergoes the processes of delexicalization and decategorization in communication, i.e. it loses verbal semantics, is isolated from the paradigm of prosit and acquires the func‑ tions of a particle and an interjection. Since prosím is an extremely important polyfunc‑ tional discursive marker in the Czech language, the hierarchization of its equivalents in closely related languages has both didactic and scientific significance. The study was conducted using the Treq database (Institute of the Czech National Corpus, Charles University, Prague), developed on the basis of the InterCorp parallel text corpus. The use of corpus materials provides a representative sample and makes the study verifiable.
