Abstract: The philosophical, theological, culturological meaning of hesychasme is considered in the article. It penetrated to Rus from the second half of the 14th century and exerted great influence on its culture. The teaching of hesychasme had an effect in the complex of verbal and nonverbal monuments. It appears in the works of the professor -Sergiy Radonezhsky, in the icon painting of Andrey Rublev, in the ascetic practice of the professor Nil Sorsky. Special attention is attracted to architecture as the synthesis of art and the architecture of a church as the most valuable trend. The tradition of hesychasme has an impact on the thought of a country and the culture of the late period, in the person of saints, such as Paisius Valichkovsky, Tikhon of Zadonsk, Seraphim of Sarov. The topicality and need of hesychasme is emphasized in the conditions of the modern spiritual revival of Russia.
