Abstract

The article explores (замена на looks at )the works of modern Russian artist Alena Dergileva (Elena Dergileva), which reflect the life of Russian province of the last third of the 20th and first decades of the 21th centuries. Alena is the author of more than six hundred of works in various genres of fine art. More than two hundred and fifty of which are pictures of small towns and villages of the European part of Russia. The author analyzes the works of A. Dergileva in the context of development of domestic Russian art of this period. Trends in the development of this period of art are expressed in addressing to the artistic heritage and in the search for new forms and methods of figurative expressions. The topic is presented in chronological order, which makes it possible to understand its temporal context. The paper provides a cultural description of the drawings, etchings and watercolors the artist created in the late 1970s in the creative trips to Vologda, Kostroma, Nizhniy Novgorod, Velikiy Novgorod, Gorodets, Krutets, Palekh, Mstera and Kholuy within groups of Moscow artists. The views of such ancient cities as Zaraysk, Arzamas, Yuriev-Polish, Kashin and Pereslavl-Zalessky are Dergileva`s favorites. She devoted a series of three-dimensional graphic compositions to these cities lives. Since the early 2000s, the artist has been working in watercolor depicting the life of Moscow-area towns. The study of the arsenal of artistic means of expression used by Dergileva offers a possibility to see a gradual increase of the environment`s value. It becomes not only a context, but also a text. Externally, the clear form of storytelling takes on a layered filling characteristic of modern art. These changes in creativity, consonant with the times, allow us to acknowledge the depth of the search and popularity of the artist.
