Abstract |
The review examines a collection of scientific papers that serves as an annexe to N.V. Gogol “Collection of Complete Works and Letters”, published by IWL RAS. It consists of topical articles devoted to various Gogolian works (“Selected places from correspondence with friends”, “Nose”, “Marriage”, etc.), unique archival searches and materials related to the reception of “Dead Souls” in the second half of the 19th century. The study includes such aspects of the writer's work as poetics, reception of his work and history of his texts’ stage manifestations. First published archival materials allow the reader to see the history of the publication of various collected works of Gogol in a different light. The reviewed collection essentially complements and enriches the reader's view of one of the most important Russian writers. |
