Abstract |
The review is dedicated to the introducing in 2018 of a new ethno-linguistic work in Bulgaria — “Dictionary of Folk Spiritual Culture of Bulgarians”. It was prepared for the publication by the team of the authors of the Ethnolinguistics Section of the Bulgarian Language Institute “Professor L. Andreichin” of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, headed by the Editor-in-Chief, Professor M. Kitanova. For many years, Bulgarian scientists have been working hard to collect and classify material, publishing a number of thematic dictionaries: on the folk calendar, family rituals and kinship terminology. The lexical material is framed in the dictionary as an encyclopedia of the folk spiritual culture of the Bulgarians, as a thesaurus, a corpus of folk terms related to Bulgarian rites, customs and beliefs. This dictionary is treated as an experience of semantic reconstruction of the linguistic picture of the Bulgarian world. The authors set out to present the cultural spiritual tradition in its synchronous aspect from the perspective of folk terminology. |
