Abstract |
The paper examines environmental context, related to the costume, which affects the perception of urban environment. While architecture in the urban space surrounding us is perceived as static, people, their clothes, accessories, behavior impart the environment maximum dynamics quickly changing the nature of the ambience around us. Thus, people's clothing and accessories can significantly affect how the environment is perceived. The studying of rapidly changing urban environment, exploring all the elements involved in design of the urban environment requires new approaches. The purpose and objectives of the paper include studying the perception of the modern urban space design, consideration of theoretical views of post-structuralism and determining the possibility of applying this methodology to explore the design of the urban environment in a broad context of modern life. The authors trace historical relationship of costume and design of the urban environment. They dwell on practices of organizing fashion shows in iconic architectural structures, and stress the role of the costume in design of urban environment when organizing targeted events, taking into account communicative role of costume in the urban environment, and highlight integration of the digital environment in modern life and its interaction with appearance of the inhabitants. The authors conclude that the use of a number of ideas and concepts of poststructuralist methodology would be instrumental in understanding multiple relationships of the various components of perception of the urban environment design. |
