Abstract

The paper pays attention to a fragment of socio-psycholinguistic research of a religious component of the associative word meaning — a component of the word structure. On a psycho-verbal level this component arouses a certain minimum of verbal reactions which are similar in relation to a number of characteristics (the inner — of perceptive, cognitive, emotive nature and the external — contextual ones) in consciousness of representatives of Christian (Orthodox) and Islamic (Muslim) religions. The authors rely on the heuristic that the studying of interconfessional verbal communication is determined by the importance of this phenomenon as one of the linguo-social structure aspects. The results of the experiments conducted on a staged basis in 2012–2018 make for a relevant conclusion: religious component of a different degree of formation and awareness exists in a linguistic consciousness of almost every native speaker of the Russian language (regardless of belonging to a particular ethnic group), including participants of the religious groups. The study also shows that interconfessional groups have different social experience and resulting identity of axiological attitudes that defines complex dialectic of their social-psychological and verbal interaction. The role of a word in shaping individual’s religiosity resides in the fact that it is precisely the meaning of a word that may act not only as a transparent (in terms of semantics) code of religious knowledge, but also as a sacred, religious object. Perspectives of researching the specific of religious component of the word`s meaning is oriented to the analysis of people linguistic consciousness peculiarities on the grounds of different religious identity.
