Abstract |
Currently, the global issues of preserving national identity are very relevant. This appears due to the confrontation between two global processes: globalization and anti-globalization. The Civic Identity Forum was dedicated to that topic, which is preserving and developing Russian identity. It took place on November 20–21, 2024 in Moscow. The paper addresses and analyzes the speeches and reports of the Forum participants. The author presents and explores opinions and positions of politicians and scientists in the fields of sociology, cultural studies, education, anthropology, history, youth policy, and social technologies. The study suggests the answers to the following questions: what is the Russian civil identity, what are the problems in its design and implementation? Special attention is paid to the disclosure of issues of strengthening Russian identity. The paper also highlights topics of the relationship of identity with the national issue, with youth policy in Russia, and with religious peculiarities. The author displays main conclusions reached at the Forum: the need to develop a conceptual framework for the term “traditional values”, the focus of information policy on shaping the unity of society, continuing to implement patriotic projects for young people, raising the level of historical knowledge, and conducting public discussions to gain experience defending their views. The study concludes that it is essential to preserve national identities that allow us to associate ourselves with our ancestors, their achievements, the history of our country, family traditions and religious beliefs. All this preserves not only the national color, but also makes world culture diverse and not monotonous. |
