The paper discusses the problem of genesis of the Byzantine alter bar and focuses on the influence of the Byzantine alter bar on the art of the Orthodox area. Lateran fastigium is the main monument in the problem of genesis. The paper demonstrates a complex approach to the problem of genesis. It explores the Judiec, ancient, early Christian sources of the templon, as well as architecture, symbolism, and the semantic parallels. |
