The article is devoted to Brian Friel's dramaturgic poetics. Brian Friel is an Irish author, one of the leading playwrights of our time. Plays by B. Friel are comprehended through a point of Chekhovian influence which is extremely important for the playwright. Principle of monologicality, musicality, principle of disputed situation are the most sig- nificant among Chekhovian theatre and Friel's too. But Friel's plays are plays-parables where each Chekhovian point has new moral-philosophical maintenance. |
