| Abstract: |
The article draws attention to the question of how I. A. Goncharov perceived a figure of emperor Nikolay Pavlovich Romanov. Statements of the writer and people of his circle about Nikolay I are provided. The author draws a conclusion that Goncharov illuminates Nikolay Pavlovich's figure from different sides. He critically perceives shortcomings of his state activity, but, on the other hand, he certainly sympathizes with personal features of the emperor: his nobility, chivalrous honor, generosity. |
