The journal “Vestnik slavianskikh kultur”

 

 

List of documents submitted:

1            An article, executed in accordance with the Bulletin requirements. The size of the article, including the tables, footnotes, endnotes, annotations etc., not more than 1 p.s —40 000 characters together with space characters (for postgraduate students — not more than 0,5 p.s. — 20 000 characters together with space characters).

 

2            Custom fonts and illustrations/figures (in .jpeg format) if any have been used

 

3            Author`s questionnaire.

4            Agreement with the author*.

 

Important! The Author submits all materials (the manuscript custom fonts and illustrations/figures (if available), Author`s questionnaire and a scan of signed licensed agreement via following e-mail: vsk_gask@mail.ru. If there are Coauthors — they are all copied in the letter

 

* In accordance with the part 4 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation (article VII “Rights to results of intellectual activities and means of individualization”) and with requirements of the Article 9 of Federal law of 27 September 2006. №152-FZ «On personal data» submitted papers shall followed by licensed agreement about granting to the Publisher license to use the academic work free of charge.

 

 

Requirements for the article elements.

1            We accept articles previously unpublished and not submitted to other journals, that meet the requirements of our Journal.  

2            The Author submits the manuscript with illustrations/figures (if available), Author`s questionnaire and a scan of signed licensed agreement via following e-mail: vsk_gask@mail.ru.

3            Please follow existing pattern.

4            Text is written in Microsoft Word and saved in .doc, Page size is A4, Margins are 20m m on all sides, Default font is Times New Roman Font size is — 14, Line Spacing is — 1,5, Indentation is first line — 1,25, Portrait orientation, No word breaking, no «ё» (except for avoiding distortion of the meaning), full justification.

 

Commentaries come in the form of automatic page footnotes. The number of the footnote is placed in the end of the sentence followed by full spot. The font is Times New Roman, the font size is 12. Line Spacing is — 1, Indentation is first line — 1,25, full justification.

 

References in the text should look as follows: [1], [2, с. 5], [3, с. 34; 5, с. 2], [7, с. 23], [10, л. 6]. References on archive materials are put in parentheses ( ).

Figures and tables captions are listed in English and Russian in a main text without full stop at the end of the sentence: font size ― 12. Line Spacing is ― 1, no Indentation, full justification, semibold.

 

In English begin all the content words (nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, pronouns, numerals) with a capital letter.

Abbreviations.

  • At the first mention of a person the name and patronymic name should be specified with the first capital letters with full stop (e.g.: И.И. Иванов). Separate N.P. (initials) and surname with a space.
  • The period of time comes in numbers (e.g.: 1930s, but not “the thirties”).
  • The given dates should be abbreviated as follows (г. or гг.: 1920 г., 1920–1922 гг.). Not “century” or “centuries” but c. and cc. correspondingly (in Roman numerals, e.g.: IX c).
  • Abbreviations include: etc., i.e., et al., see.; “because” and “so-called” are in full.

 

Use following throughout the whole text:

  • inverted commas of this form (e.g.:« »). If the quotation begins or ends with the quoted word, the use of both types of commas is required (e.g.:«“one”, two, three, “four”»).
  • Em dash (—), except for short dash, as between pages in references (С. 18–20) and years (1920–1930).

 

  1. The first page of the article must be written as follows:

  • Type of the publication (in Russian and English) (see e.g., Addendum 1): font size — 12, Line spacing — 1,5, no Indentation, left align, portrait orientation, no word breaking;
  • The copyright ©, publication date, initials and name of the author (e.g.: © 2023 г. И.И. Иванов): font size — 14, semibold, Line spacing — 1,5, no indentation, center align, portrait orientation, no word breaking;
  • City, country (e.g.: Moscow, Russia): font size — 12, Line spacing — 1,5, no indentation, center align, portrait orientation, no word breaking;
  • Paper`s title: capital letters, no Caps Lock, font size — 14, Line spacing — 1,5, no indentation, center align, portrait orientation, no word breaking;
  • information about financial support of the paper (grant etc.), if available: font size — 12, Line spacing — 1,5, no indentation, justified, portrait orientation, no word breaking;
  • abstract (represents a summary of the paper with narrative consistency, 150–200 words): font size — 12, Line spacing — 1, Indentation is first line — 1,25, justified, portrait orientation, no word breaking;
  • keywords: font size — 12, Line spacing — 1, Indentation is first line — 1,25, justified, portrait orientation, no word breaking;
  • Information about the author: first name, middle name, surname, academic degree, academic rank (if any), full name of the institution, address, index, city, country, font size – 12.

 

  • ORCID ID (Open Research Contributor Identification Number — unique identification number). STRICTLY follow the present format: https://orcid.org/0000-0000-0000-0000 (ссылка проверяется редактором отдельно).

  • date of publication: filled by the editor at the finale stage.

3.     The paper`s text is followed by the References: font size ― 14, line spacing — 1, Indentation is first line ― 0,25 см, numbering — 1, 2, 3 (without full stop after numbers), justified.

  • These are subdivided into sections: «Research» and «Sources» (first in Cyrillic then in Latin in every sections), continuous numbering in two lists.
  • REFERENCES are listed in the end of the article in the alphabet order in accordance with GOST 7.0.5. — 2008. as a numbered list.
  • Surname, first name, and middle name of the author(s) — italics. The surname and the initials are written separately (e.g.: Иванов И.И.).
  • Cities of publications are abbreviated as follows: Moscow — М., Saint-Petersburg — СПб., Leningrad — Л., Nizhny Novgorod — Н. Новгород, Petrograd — Пг., Rostov-on-Don — Ростов н/Д.
  • Books shall have indications of the city, publishers, year and overall number of pages (individual pages are mentioned in paper`s text, e.g.: [1, с. 10]).
  • Periodicals shall indicate the range of article`s pages.
  • Multivolume collections and dictionaries are only given a concise bibliographic description, volumes indicated in references in the main article`s text, e.g.: [6, т. 12], [6, т. 12, с. 108].

Formatted in accordance with MLA system:

  • Only literary sources written in Cyrillic are transliterated; French, German, Italian, Polish and other sources are not to be translated into English or transliterated.

 

  • Go to — https://transliteration-online.ru/ and move the slider “Transliteration of names” to the right.
  • Insert the full bibliography text in Russian into the special box and click on the “В транслит (to transliterate)” button
  • Then, please copy the transliterated text into the References list you are preparing.

 

Next, one needs to edit what is obtained and add translations into English:

  • While in Research references in Latin the names are written in full, in Cyrillic references one may use initials.
  • Initials and first names are separated from the last name by a comma (e.g.: Bogomolov, N.A.). Initials of foreign authors are expanded to full names (Blachère, Régis.).
  • Titles of research (monographs, journal articles, collected proceedings, etc.) are translated into English and inserted in square brackets [ ] after corresponding transliterated titles (whereby journal titles are not translated, only transliterated).
  • Each relevant word of the papers` title listed in English shall be capitalised. Articles, prepositions and conjunctions are written with a lowercase letter.
  • Put the title of the main source in italics (monograph, journal, collected papers etc. — transliterated text and translation).
  • One should enclose the titles of articles from journals or collected papers, the title of a monograph chapter, etc. (transliterated text and translation) in inverted commas (“ ”).
  • replace the “//” sign by a full stop.
  • replace the “/” sign by a comma.
  • replace № by no. (with a dot), Т. — by Vol.

Important: The numbers in journal imprint shall be put before the year.

  • Add Publ. after transliteration of the publisher's name (e.g.: Moscow, Nauka Publ., 1985).
  • Correct page designations: 235 p. instead of 235 s.; instead of S. 45–47, pp. 45–47.
  • No italics in authors` names.
  • At the end of the References add indication onto original language in brackets (e.g.: (In Russian), (In English), (In Germany) и т. п.).
  • Add DOI indication if available.
