| Abstract: |
The article describes the events to commemorate the memory of M. Skobelev after his sudden death in 1882, which were held in Russia up to 1917 However, after 1917, the memory of the great commander was to fade, and his name was erased from people’s memory.After the re-establishment in 1995 of Skobelev committee of the international public association “Slavs” the memory of the great son of Russia returned to its people. This is facilitated by the continuing efforts of the committee and its president, famous cosmonaut Alexei Leonov. The article gives details about the activity of the committee to restore the name of the great general in the new historical conditions. |
