| Abstract: |
The article reviews the history of the motive of «zverskost’» (atrocity and savagery) in ancient literature during the period of 700 years, and introduces the conventional division of written monuments into three families due to the nature of its implementation. The author comes to the conclusion that there wasn’t any rapid development of this old art motive, only occasional additions were allowed and they were made mainly for political and everyday reasons. However, this motive is an indicator of artistry of ancient literature. |
