| Abstract: |
The problem under investigation is pressing nowadays, because Suvar-Bulgars’ descendants still keep up interest in their origin. The descendants face the dilemma: Are they Suvar-Bulgars or the Chuvashes? The results of the investigations show, that one of the main reasons of the great interest in their origin is the presentday Chuvash language and the native culture. The famous national embroidery, folk costume, amateur and folk arts, works of jeweler’s art, arts and crafts take rightful place in the history of word art. As for the art of execution of these artworks, their significance and cosmogonic-mythological richness, they are not inferior to the outstanding creations of the old civilizations. Thus, the ancient Suvar-Bulgars and the Chuvashes are one people — so we stick to the real name of the people — ‘Suvar-Bulgars’. And we are going to use the name ‘Suvar-Bulgars’, speaking about the aspects of the culture later on. |
