Abstract

Globalization of society will inevitably affect modern costume. The paper draws special attention to the history of Russian folk costumes, and its transformation into modern fashion. One of the main directions of anti-globalization is an ethnic style. Analysis of the ethnic collection of haute couture designer resulted in conclusion that ethnic motives still remain relevant in modern clothing, so that many designers have resorted to the use of ethnic motives.
