The purpose of our article is to explore “small homeland” image perception from the point of view of the regional cultural and natural specifics influence. The analysis is based on sociological data obtained from Arkhangelsk region inhabitants from November 2015 to April 2016. The research revealed that cultural and natural specific characteristics are main “small homeland” image components for inhabitants of Arkhangelsk region. Herewith, respondents approach to cultural and natural “small homeland” image components differently. They use images associated with nature to indicate a personal connection with the place of residence. At the same time the images associated with culture are appealing to region importance and its involvement in all-Russian history and culture.
