Abstract |
This article discusses epithet characteristics of Vladimir the Great, containing in the liturgical texts. Considering the factor of their development, the author reveals similarities and differences in the figurative and evaluative appraisals of the prince in terms of emotional, expressive or intential pathos, the dynamics of the changing figuratively-axiological, spiritual and poetic notions about him, which is expressed by the tendency to increase, by means of lexical synonymy, the quantitative density epithets, as well as the tendency to complicate their semantic and formal or structural specificity. Yet the main in the development of an array of tropes is the hymnographers` aspiration to expanse the structure and volume of the metameanings interfaced to have specific semantics of lexemes and phrases, so that the poetry of words and speech non-verbally took away glorifying the Saint into speculative, ideal, spiritual, heavenly reality. |
