The article discusses the main functions of clothing within the systems “man-thing-environment”, “man-thing-result”, “man-thing-society”, included in the complex of four groups of functions (instrumental, adaptive, productive, integrative). The paper defines functions of goat down products of various assortment and justifies the necessity of their expansion. Proposed structured scheme for the extended set of functions of goat down clothing includes therapeutic and productive functions. Changes in each of the listed functions goat down clothing are considered in time with detecting of the fading (confessional) and emerging (erotic, function of cultural sample) functions. The authors suggest the possibility of realization of each function in fashionable products of modern life and propose to realize therapeutic and prophylactic potential of the properties of goat down in terms of therapeutic and prophylactic function of household clothing for home and everyday use. The results of the study make up for the lack of available scientific and practical ideas about effective ways of using of the Orenburg goat down in the design of modern multi-functional clothing.
