| Abstract: |
The paper presents the results of folklore field research in Toropetsk District of Tver Region, carried out by the Department of Folk Art of the State Academy of Slavic Culture. The collection of Toropetsk belts, which were described during the expedition, signifies that they belonged to a local radition, which is seen in the peculiarity of composition, common technological methods of their production and decoration. At the same time, ornamental motifs reflect general Russian tradition. |
