Abstract: |
The paper considers the problem of interpretation of the canonical chants of the Russian Church in the composer’s creation. The major categories of church singing canon — genre and form of hymns — are analyzed through the prism of the individual author’s approach on the example of one-part and multi-part forms of spiritual musical works of Petersburg composers of a New direction at the turn of XIX–XX centuries. |
