Abstract: Films and television are one of the means to transfer information as well as something more important which influences our young generation forming its lookout, tastes, values and culture. That is why films are the main sources to provoke the interest of young generation concerning questions of faith. In the article we will consider the potential of using secular films as an aid to initiate discussion about faith issues in small groups while learning such disciplines as «religiology» or «the fundamentals of Orthodox culture». The article describes 3 types of films suitable for the video course which can be introduced alongside the disciplines mentioned above. They are: «Christian», «secular-Christian» and «secular» films. The article shows the difference between 3 types of films and also gives arguments for using secular films to stimulate discussion about questions of faith.
